House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries offered what appeared to be a cautious vote of support for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., as she continues to buck her party on health care, foreign conflicts, and the Epstein files.

Greene has, amid the government shutdown, criticized Republicans for failing to articulate a coherent policy to lower healthcare costs. That row with the GOP comes of the heels of her venting frustrations with the administration's apparent interest in renewing foreign conflicts and its unwillingness to release the Epstein files, as promised.

“It does seem to many of us that she’s had a surprisingly enlightened few weeks in terms of her perspective on both the Epstein files” Jeffries said during an appearance on MSNBC. “And at the same period of time, Republicans have no interest — zero interest — in trying to address the health care crisis that they visited upon the American people, even though you’ve got Republicans now, most prominently Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s making clear this is not a made-up crisis. It’s a real thing."

Greene insists that she remains a stalwart MAGA supporter and that her criticisms largely represent encouragement for the party to follow through on its commitments.

She has especially taken aim at the extent of Republican support for Israel and the degree of influence its lobby has over American politics.
