Josh Shapiro heads to VA to campaign for Spanberger
His challenger, Jay Jones, has struggled to contend with revelations that he sent text messages fantasizing about the deaths of his political opponent's children.
Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Penn., is headed to Virginia to support Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger as the Democratic ticket in the OId Dominion sags due the ongoing scandal surrounding attorney general candidate Jay Jones.
Shapiro will appear in Hampton Roads, Va., on Sunday to campaign with Spanberger, The Hill reported. His arrival follows former President Barack Obama signing on to campaign for Spanberger as well.
While Spanberger herself appears poised to easily defeat Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, the attorney general's race seems to favor Republican incumbent Jason Miyares.
His challenger, Jay Jones, has struggled to contend with revelations that he sent text messages fantasizing about the deaths of his political opponent's children.
