Kennedy brushes off Kamala Harris as 'no longer relevant'

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., had harsh words for Vice President Kamala Harris as she seems poised to wade back into the national political spotlight.

Harris has, in recent months, hinted at another presidential run and chimed in on key legislative debates, notably over the Republican Party's voter ID push.

Speaking on Fox News on Monday evening, Kennedy brushed off her attempted return to the national limelight saying, “[n]o disrespect, but Vice President Harris is no longer relevant."

"She had a shot and she missed. She can cozy up to the Lulu Lenins all she wants to,” he added. “But she has me confused with somebody who cares what she thinks. I mean, she’s yesterday.”

Kennedy referenced Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin, while pairing the name with the brand Lululemon, in an apparent reference to growing preference for socialism among some of the college-educated.
