Leavitt confirms Trump won't intervene in extradition of Tate brothers to UK

The pair were arrested this week in Miami, Fla., face extradition to the UK, where they hold dual-citizenship.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday confirmed that President Donald Trump would not intervene to prevent the extradition of influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate to the UK.

"No, we've already answered that question," she said bluntly, when pressed on the issue during a press briefing.

The pair were arrested this week in Miami, Fla., face extradition to the UK, where they hold dual-citizenship. Both face a litany of charges related to alleged rape, assault, sex trafficking, and other offenses.

Andrew, in particular, also faces 19 counts linked to indecent images of a child.

The Tates previously were under house arrest in Romania, but returned to the United States last year.

A former kickboxer, Andrew Tate achieved global recognition as leading influencer in the "manosphere," a cabal of right-wing, anti-feminist influencers that espouse a particularly bellicose flavor of modern masculinity.
