Mamdani to meet with Trump Friday afternoon
An avowed socialist, Mamdani has campaigned on a far-left platform and is expected to work against Trump's immigration enforcement efforts in the city.
New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is expected to visit the White House to meet with President Donald Trump on Friday.
Mamdani won a landslide victory earlier this month over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., and Republican Curtis Sliwa. He previously defeated Cuomo in an upset win in the Democratic primary.
An avowed socialist, Mamdani has campaigned on a far-left platform and is expected to work against Trump's immigration enforcement efforts in the city.
Trump, however, has reportedly expressed compliments for Mamdani and the pair may be poised for a more respectful relationship than pundits have predicted, according to The Hill.
