Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., on Tuesday became the latest member of Congress to call on Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, to resign from office amid a scandal involving an alleged affair with a staffer, who committed suicide.

Gonzales is facing a competitive primary challenge from Brandon Herrera, aka "the AK guy", and the bombshell allegations have rocked his campaign. Several female Republicans, including Reps. Nancy Mace, S.C.; Lauren Boebert, Colo.; and Anna Paulina Luna, Fla.; have urged his resignation already.

Massie, for his part, posted his call for Gonzales's resignation on X.

"I’m joining Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and Anna Paulina Luna in calling for Representative Tony Gonzales to resign immediately. Where are the other men in the GOP? Trump is infamous for making terrible endorsements — this is one and it should be revoked," he said.

Trump endorsed Gonzales for reelection and has not rescinded the endorsement. Republicans currently hold a narrow advantage in the House of Representatives and a resignation from Gonzales would likely make it harder for House Speaker Mike Johnson to control the conference.
