McConnell discharged from rehab facility, will continue physical therapy
The Kentucky Republican appears unlikely to return to Congress before the August recess begins, though he is expected to return to the upper chamber to complete his final term.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Thursday issued a statement confirming he had been discharged from the rehabilitation facility and would continue physical therapy from home.
"Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I've received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff," he said in the statement.
The Kentucky Republican appears unlikely to return to Congress before the August recess begins, though he is expected to return to the upper chamber to complete his final term.
He is not seeking reelection. Republicans have nominated Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., to replace him, come November.
