Mexican illegal charged with child sexual exploitation after HSI probe

A Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) probe has led to charges against an illegal alien from Mexico for alleged production of child pornography.

Francisco Rosales Ortiz was charged with 10 counts of production of child sexual abuse material, possession of child sexual abuse material, and illegal possession of a firearm.

“Thanks to the hard work of the men and women of HSI, this criminal illegal alien from Mexico is off our streets,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. “He has now been charged with producing child pornography and possession of a firearm by an illegal alien. I want to thank our partners at the Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their work in prosecuting this disgusting individual. Once he faces justice for his crimes, we will make sure he is removed from our country and can no longer prey on innocent children in America ever again.”

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina Russ Ferguson announced the charges. Ortiz faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that Ortiz claims to have entered the U.S. in 2005.
