MTG reams Mike Johnson for failure to articulate healthcare policy
Greene has, in recent weeks, taken a number of bold stances against GOP leadership, expressing frustration with the party's apparent refusal to address many of the issues important to their voters.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Wednesday excoriated House Speaker Mike Johnson for insisting he had a bevy of policy ideas to address the costs of health care but failing to provide any details.
"More of my Republican colleagues are finally talking about the unaffordable health insurance crisis, but yesterday on our GOP conference call Speaker Johnson said he has ideas and pages of policy, but did not say a single policy plan," she posted on X. " I think that is unacceptable."
Greene herself blamed the Affordable Care Act for the surge in healthcare costs, but insisted that the coming expiration of ACA subsidies would lead to substantial increases in costs. She further blamed Republicans for failing to address the issue.
"America gave us the House and Senate majority and entrusted us to legislatively deliver the agenda they voted for, and along with that comes the responsibility to help Americans. America First, remember?" she added. "Not leave Americans wondering if or when Congress will finally fix the healthcare industry, while they look ahead not knowing if they will even be able to afford health insurance."
