Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday accused Canberra of fueling an "antisemitic fire" in the wake of a deadly shooting at Sydney's Bondi Beach.

Two gunmen  on Sunday opened fire on Jewish participants in a Hanukkah celebration, killing at least 11 people. A further 29 sustained injuries.

“We will continue to denounce those who do not denounce, but instead encourage. We will continue to demand that they do what is needed of leaders of free nations," he said, according to the Times of Israel. "We will not give up, we will not bow our heads, we will continue to fight as our ancestors did.”

The Times of Israel interpreted the comments as a criticism of the Australian government.
