Voters trust GOP more than Dems on economy, security, immigration, Dems leading in other areas: poll

A new poll found that the Republican Party is gaining trust among voters on immigration, security and the economy as the midterm elections draw closer.

The survey found that Republicans are ahead of Democrats on national security (43%-31%), crime (43%-32%), immigration (44%-37%), the economy (42%-35%), gun laws (39%-35%), and inflation (38%-36%). 

Democrats are leading Republicans on healthcare (45%-32%), abortion (46%-31%), education (42%-32%), and climate change (42%-25%), according to the Napolitan News Service poll, conducted on January 28 through 29.

On the question of which party voters generally trust more across important issues, the results were 41% for Republicans compared to 39% for Democrats.
