A pro-Ken Paxton PAC is set to spend $15 million on an ad campaign to boost the state attorney general in his race against Democrat James Talarico for Senate.

The Lone Star Liberty PAC will place ads across the state highlighting Paxton's record as attorney general and attacking Talarico, The Hill reported.

The ad buy is one of the larger cash infusions to Paxton's campaign this cycle, which comes as Senate leadership appears uninterested in backing him.

Paxton defeated Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, in the Republican primary. Though Cornyn placed first in the first round of the primary, Paxton triumphed in the runoff after President Donald Trump endorsed him.
