Republicans approve 'technical changes' to Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'

House Republicans have approved adjustments to the "big, beautiful bill" amid backlash from spending hawks in both chambers.
The chamber backed what it deemed "technical changes" in a 213-207 vote with only Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., joining with Democrats to oppose the measure, The Hill reported.
Among the changes were the elimination of $2 billion for military intelligence programs and a handful of additional defense-related programs.

Senate Republicans, for their part, are likely to make further revisions as Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has vowed to reduce the amount of border security funding in the legislation.
