Scandal-scarred Democrat Jay Jones projected to win VA AG race: AP
The AG race was notably closer than the gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial contests as Jones suffered from a scandal involving leaked text messages in which he fantasized about the death of a political opponent's children.
Democrat Jay Jones was projected to win the Virginia attorney general's race on Tuesday evening.
The Associated Press called the race at 10:06 p.m., at which point Jones led with 52.0% to Republican incumbent Jason Miyares's 47.5%, with 87% of precincts reporting.
