Senate votes to end Trump's global tariffs in 51-47 vote

The Senate on Thursday voted to end President Donald Trump's tariffs, with several Republicans joining Democrats in backing the measure.
The 51-47 vote saw Sens. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Rand Paul, R-Ky., Susan Collins, R-Me., and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, back the measure.
The bill plan is unlikely to take effect as the Republicans control the House and the Senate lacks the support to override a veto in the event the measure reaches Trump's desk.
Though Trump's legal authority to impose the tariffs remains the subject of legal scrutiny, he has already concluded trade agreements with the EU, UK, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and a number of key trading partners.
