Talarico visited Silicon Valley to fundraise, despite blasting big donor influence: Report
Talarico is facing off against state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who ousted Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, in a primary runoff earlier this month.
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico attended a string of fundraisers with big donors in Silicon Valley, despite his vocal campaigning against the political influence of wealthy elites.
Politico reported that Talarico attended at least four fundraisers in April in the Bay Area. When the outlet questioned Talarico about his participation in the fundraisers, his campaign pointed to his support for tightening campaign finance law.
“James is the only candidate who’s outlined a comprehensive agenda to ban super PACs, ban corporate PACs, ban congressional stock trading and tax billionaires so we can fix this broken, corrupt political system,” a Talarico spokesman told the outlet.
Talarico is facing off against state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who ousted Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, in a primary runoff earlier this month. The race is expected to favor the Republican, but be more competitive for the traditionally red state.
The race is expected to become one of the most expensive of the 2026 cycle.
