18 people hospitalized in mobile lounge accident at Dulles airport

MWAA oversees Dulles and the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Dulles is located in Virginia's Loudoun and Fairfax counties.

The Metro Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) on Monday said that 18 people were sent to a local hospital after a mobile lounge collided with a dock at the Washington Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., while the lounge was transporting passengers to Concourse D, according to The Hill. The 18 passengers were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Crystal Nosal, part of the MWAA's media relations office, said the airport is operating as normal. MWAA oversees Dulles and the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Dulles is located in Virginia's Loudoun and Fairfax counties. 

There are 19 mobile lounges at Dulles and the lounges can carry up to 102 passengers altogether, according to the airport’s website
