Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday said that the company will begin "winding down" production on the Cybertruck at its Texas gigafactory next year.

"Tesla will be winding down production of the Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas around the middle of next year to make room for increased Cybercab production," Musk said in a post on X.

Musk didn't provide any details on the decision, including whether the vehicle would be produced at a different facility. In response to another user who commented on the post, Musk said the "Cybertruck fleet will be around for a long time."

Tesla began deliveries of Cybertrucks in 2023. It's produced exclusively at the Texas facility alongside the Tesla Model Y and two-seat Cybercab, CNBC reported.

Musk had predicted that annual sales of the Cybertruck would eventually hit 250,000 units. Tesla doesn't break out its sales by model or region, but Cox Automotive estimated the company sold 20,237 units last year, down from 38,965 in 2024.
