President Donald Trump's approval rating remains steady, despite an avalanche of negative press targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a recent poll has revealed.

In the latest McLaughlin survey, Trump approval stood at 50%, while 47% disapproved of his performance. His approval remained constant from the survey's December iteration.

Driving that steadiness, however, is a near-zero change in support from his base. Republicans approve of Trump by an 88% to 11% margin, while his 2024 voters do so by an 89% to 9% margin.

Deportations, specifically, remain a popular policy, with 87% supporting the deportation of known criminals while 10% opposed such a move. A further 62% supported deporting all illegal aliens, regardless of their criminal history, compared to 32% who opposed such a move.

Conducted Jan. 21-27, the survey questioned 1,000 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
