Trump blames Powell for housing woes

President Donald Trump on Wednesday renewed his criticisms of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, blaming him for the woes of the housing industry due to his refusal to lower interest rates.
"Could somebody please inform Jerome “Too Late” Powell that he is hurting the Housing Industry, very badly? People can’t get a Mortgage because of him. There is no Inflation, and every sign is pointing to a major Rate Cut. 'Too Late' is a disaster!" he posted on Truth Social.
Since his return to office, Trump has vocally pressured Powell to lower rates, citing stable inflation and strong jobs numbers. Powell, for his part, has generally been hesitant to do so.
While Trump has declined to fire Powell, senior administration officials have called for his resignation, including Fannie Mae Chairman William Pulte.
Trump recently visited the Federal Reserve to check on an ongoing renovation project.
