President Donald Trump on Wednesday lamented the Fox News channel highlighting California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer and repeated his endorsement of Republican Steve Hilton.

"Why is FoxNews showing SLEAZEBAG Tom Steyer, doing a big piece on him right now, and probably putting him 'into play,' instead of talking about Republican Candidates, and really good ones like Steve Hilton, and Republicans?" he posted on Truth Social. "How can a Republican expect to win that State, with their Mail In Voting and Rigged Elections, when you have FoxNews promoting the Democrats?"

"Nobody cares about Tom Steyer, he is a LOSER, but Fox is making it possible for a guy like this to win. VOTE FOR STEVE HILTON, AND TURN CALIFORNIA AROUND!" Trump added.

Trump endorsed Hilton earlier this month, saying "Steve can turn [the state] around, before it is too late, and, as President, I will help him to do so!"

California has a jungle primary in which all candidates vie for the top two slots to move on to the general election. The race witnessed a major shakeup this month after now-former Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., suspended his campaign over sex misconduct allegations. He subsequently resigned from the House.
