Trump congratulates Blackburn on winning TN governor nomination
Tennessee is a reliably red state and Blackburn is the heavy favorite to win the battle for the governor's mansion.
President Donald Trump on Friday congratulated Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., on winning the Republican primary for governor in Tennessee.
Blackburn handily triumphed in the contest and had the backing of the president during the campaign.
"Congratulations to our Great Senator from Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn, who had a tremendous WIN for Governor last night, against a very strong and talented opponent, John Rose," Trump posted on Truth Social. "Marsha now must go on to the next step, where she is running against a Radical Left Dumocrat who does not represent the Values of Tennessee, a State which I won all three times, in Historic Numbers."
"Marsha will decisively win, and Tennessee, under her leadership, will go on to set Records in every category," he added. "I know Marsha well, and she has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Tennessee. Congratulations Marsha!"
Tennessee is a reliably red state and Blackburn is the heavy favorite to win the battle for the governor's mansion. Should she win, the outgoing Gov. Bill Lee, R-Tenn., would select her replacement to complete the term, which does not expire until 2031.
