Trump declares victory in White House Ballroom court fight

President Donald Trump on Wednesday declared victory in his court fight to build the White House Ballroom, celebrating the project's continuation and deeming it his "gift to America."

The Supreme Court this week allowed him to continue construction on the project, vacating lower court stays that came as part of a suit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States.

"We have hundreds of happy construction workers in D.C. busily doing their job building the finest Ballroom/Military complex anywhere in the World," he posted on Truth Social. "There is nothing like it, and never will be! It was a long, hard, fight in the Court System, but the winner is, as always under 'TRUMP,' the U.S.A. Also, it is important to remember, the Ballroom is a 400 Million Dollar gift to America!"

The privately funded project has attracted considerable scrutiny and press attention, but the ballroom is a passion project for Trump, who has pointed to the nation's lack of an adequate venue for state events.

Since returning to office, Trump has worked to "beautify" the nation's capital through a number of construction and revitalization projects. Apart from the ballroom, Trump has restored monuments and infrastructure across the city, deployed the National Guard to crack down on crime, cleaned graffiti and litter from the streets, and removed many homeless encampments.
