Trump denies knowledge of investigation into destruction of Iranian girls' school
Trump previously suggested that Iran could have been responsible and that the Islamic Republic possessed Tomahawk missiles, which were used in the strike.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday denied knowledge of a Department of War investigation that blamed the U.S. for the missile strike on an Iranian girls' school that killed 175 people.
A preliminary inquiry of the ongoing investigation found that the U.S. was responsible for the erroneous Tomahawk missile strike, the New York Times reported this week. Trump, for his part, denied knowledge of the investigation.
"I don't know about that," he told reporters.
Trump previously suggested that Iran could have been responsible and that the Islamic Republic possessed Tomahawk missiles, which were used in the strike.
Multiple news outlets, however, fact-checked that claim. Numerous defense experts told CNN, for example, that Iran does not possess Tomahawk missiles, nor is there any evidence that Tehran had ever done so.
