Trump endorses incumbents in Utah House races

Both Moore and Maloy face primary challenges that are expected to be competitive.

President Donald Trump on Monday issued endorsements backing incumbent lawmakers in Utah's upcoming House primaries.

In separate Truth Social posts, Trump endorsed Reps. Blake Moore, Celeste Maloy, and Mike Kennedy for reelection. The three represent the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th congressional districts, respectively. He did not issue an endorsement in the 1st district.

Moore currently represents the 1st district, but is running in the second due to a redraw of the maps. The 1st district is expected to lean Democratic in the general election.

Both Moore and Maloy face primary challenges that are expected to be competitive. Moore faces state Rep. Karianne Lisonbee, who has attacked him over his role in a state committee that changed redistricting rules, leading to the map redraw. Maloy faces former state Rep. Phil Lyman.
