President Donald Trump on Friday announced that Europe had agreed to release stockpiled diesel oil as markets remain tumultuous due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

"Europe has just agreed to release a massive amount of their heavily stocked Diesel Oil. The process will begin immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he posted on Truth Social.

The move is also potentially good news for Trump ahead of the November midterms. Republicans have struggled to win voters over on their economic track record, and a large infusion of diesel into the market could drive down costs in time for the election.
