The pair spoke over the phone about the ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza on Monday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this evening with US President [Trump]," the prime minister's office confirmed. "The two leaders stressed the importance and obligation of disarming Hamas and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip, and discussed expanding the peace agreements."

"US President Trump invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to a meeting at the White House in the near future," the office added.

Netanyahu has visited the White House five times this year. Trump and Netanyahu remain close political allies and the U.S. president has urged his Israeli counterpart to pardon Netanyahu, who is facing corruption allegations in his own country.
