Trump touts manufacturing boom, stock market surge in claiming 'Golden Age'

President Donald Trump on Tuesday pointed to three key economic metrics to declare that the U.S. is in an economic "golden age."

While the ongoing war in Iran has led to increases in gas prices, and inflation continues to impact grocery costs, some metrics have turned positive, and Trump is eager to seize on them.

"Manufacturing is BOOMING! Factory activity just hit its fastest pace in more than FOUR YEARS, far exceeding expectations. New orders have expanded for SEVEN straight months. American Manufacturing is BACK!" he posted on Truth Social. "The Stock Market is at an ALL TIME HIGH, and setting Record after Record because Investors know America is WINNING!"
 
"American Exports are on FIRE. U.S. Goods Exports have now topped 200 BILLION DOLLARS for the fifth consecutive month, and we are on pace for nearly 2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS in Goods Exports this year — Numbers nobody thought possible just two years ago," he added. "The Fake News and the Dumocrats are doing everything they can to distract people’s thoughts from these MASSIVE Successes, but it’s getting harder and harder for them to do. With TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS of new Investment pouring into the United States, and more Factories, more Construction, and more High Paying Jobs on the way, the results are impossible to hide."

"This is the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA, and we’re just getting started. We’re already achieving heights that nobody thought possible — and the biggest Victories are still ahead!" he went on.

While many economic metrics have begun to improve, the American public has yet to reward the president in any way. At present, his approval rating on the economic stands at a mere 36.0% in the RealClearPolitics average. A further 61.1% disapprove of his handling of the issue.
