President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday announced the creation of a $25 million fund to pay Americans who identify public funds fraud.

"Today, I'm thrilled to announce the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program. Americans will now be able to report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities via a new website," Trump said.

When making the announcement, Trump cited the efforts of the task force to uncover fraud, which had identified schemes in primarily "Democrat-run states" such as Maine, California, and Minnesota.

Trump also put the spotlight on Nick Shirley, and independent journalist and YouTuber, who became a national sensation after documenting allegedly fraudulent daycare centers in Minneapolis linked to the Somali expat community.

The effort comes as Vance, whom Trump named his "fraud czar" earlier this year, ramps up efforts to identify misuse of taxpayer dollars as part of a sweeping crackdown across every federal agency.

His efforts have targeted major public support programs, including Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and Social Security, as well as myriad grant programs and immigration applications.
