Former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Thursday shared an update on her husband's, Abraham Williams, bone cancer diagnosis.

Gabbard left her post earlier this year after announcing her husband's diagnosis.

"Earlier this year, my husband Abraham was diagnosed with a very rare bone cancer," she said in a social media post. "This has been a challenging time for us and is hard to talk about.  But so many of you have reached out asking how he’s doing, and sharing your prayers and well wishes with us.  We made this video to share a little about what this journey has been like, and to update you on his recovery."

Gabbard further revealed that her husband had received surgery to remove a portion of his tailbone. She further revealed that Williams declined to take narcotic pain medication.

Doctors told the couple they were confident they had removed all of the cancerous material.

"Overall, Abraham is progressing very well," she added.
