Turning Point Action on Friday threw its support behind Rep. Julia Letlow, R-La., in the Louisiana Senate primary, handing her another boost as President Donald Trump hopes to unseat Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La.

"We at [TP Action] are proud to endorse Julia Letlow in Louisiana," posted TP Action's Tyler Bowyer. "A great mom, team player and smart. She’s an instant upgrade & will work with conservatives for a better functioning Senate.

She is a great example of Patriotism."

The Senate primary election is set for Saturday. Letlow faces Cassidy and state Treasurer John Fleming.

Earlier in the day, Trump posted a message encouraging supporters to back Letlow and vote Cassidy out of office. Cassidy is one of the last Republican senators in office who voted to convict Trump during his second impeachment.

Turning Point, for its part, has been active in boosting pro-Trump, anti-establishment candidates this primary cycle, notably investing heavily in the Indiana primaries to remove Republicans who opposed redistricting.

Letlow was first elected to Congress in a 2021 special election, after her husband, Luke Letlow, died before taking office.
