Vice President JD Vance on Thursday unveiled an anti-fraud pledge, urging Americans to sign on to efforts to keep taxpayer dollars out of the wrong hands.

President Donald Trump named Vance as his "fraud czar" earlier this year. He has since spearheaded the federal anti-fraud task force and coordinated Interagency efforts to clamp down on schemes to misuse public funds.

"I'm calling on every member of Congress, as well as local and statewide officials, and anyone seeking public office, to rise to the occasion," Vance said in a video.

The pledge itself included six promises, namely that the signatory would work to protect the elderly and the vulnerable from fraudsters, keep illegal aliens off taxpayer benefit programs, keep fraudsters from using public funds for luxuries, stop fraud payments before they are made, bring fraudsters to justice in the judicial process, and arrest illegal aliens found guilty of fraud.

The announcement drew cheers from statewide officials and from national organizations. Kentucky Auditor Allison Ball called the pledge "the kind of committed leadership we need from the federal government."

"I applaud Vice President Vance for introducing it, and I strongly encourage all elected leaders to sign it and then hold true to its promises. Families in Kentucky and across our country deserve nothing less," she added.

The State Financial Officers Foundation also signed on to the pledge.

"The State Financial Officers Foundation applauds Vice President Vance's powerful new pledge to protect the American people from fraud in government," the organization said. "Americans are tired of the waste, fraud, and abuse committed by corrupt bureaucrats, scammers, and illegal aliens, and are flat-out sick of the higher costs that come with it. We thank Vice President Vance and the Trump administration for their commitment to winning the war on fraud and protecting American taxpayers. We look forward to remaining with them on the front lines of this fight."
