Vance defends Trump's ban on three media outlets

Vice President JD Vance on Monday defended President Donald Trump's decision to ban Politico, CNN, and MSNOW from the White House, which the president has characterized as a crackdown on "fake news."

The three outlets have since announced a lawsuit to restore their access to the White House. But Vance, for his part, contended that the White House had merely rescinded "special access" to critical outlets.

"We're not gonna give you special access to the White House if you engage in what is effective propaganda," Vance told reporters. "They're just not going to get an office in the White House anymore, and I think it's totally appropriate."

But most of the news outlets in the White House pool have sided with the three banned networks. The White House pool, for its part, has announced that it will not report while the networks remain banned.

Trump has long feuded with the press, accusing it of holding a bias against him.
