Video footage appears to show McConnell on stretcher, loaded into an ambulance

Video footage obtained by CNN appears to show Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher after he was reportedly found unconscious in his home.

The footage does not closely show the individual on the stretcher, though eyewitnesses asserted it was McConnell, who was hospitalized over an apparent heart attack. The footage reportedly came from a neighbor of the Kentucky lawmaker.

McConnell's health remained the subject of intense speculation throughout his time in the hospital, despite lawmakers and pundits stating that they had conversed with him.

The former Senate GOP leader is not seeking reelection in November.
