ECOWAS delegation to meet with representatives of Nigerien junta

A delegation from the West African regional bloc ECOWAS met with representatives of the Nigerien junta on Thursday, according to tweets from a Nigerian presidency spokesperson. “ECOWAS special envoys General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar III in a meeting with representatives of the Nigerien military junta. The junta is represented at the meeting by General Barmou and other top brass,” a tweet by Nigerian presidency aide Abdulaziz Abdulaziz read on Thursday evening, which included photos of the meeting.
