Michigan Gov. Whitmer signs bill banning youth conversion therapy

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation Thursday prohibiting the practice of conversion therapy for Michigan minors. Conversion therapy is a practice that attempts to alter an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity to become heterosexual through controversial techniques. Michigan is the 22nd state to ban conversion therapy.
