NASA engineers discover new method to recycle astronaut urine into drinkable water on ISS

Engineers at NASA announced a breakthrough system Tuesday for crewmembers aboard the International Space Station to recycle 98% of the water used on their missions. NASA said the new method collects astronauts’ wastewater, including urine, sweat, and moisture from breathing, and processes it into clean, distilled water. An official for the federal agency said that recycling as many resources on the space station as possible will allow NASA to prepare for longer and farther missions.
