Record snowfall hits west Texas as powerful winter storm moves through
Several inches of snow covered parts of west Texas early today, January 24, as a powerful winter storm moved across the southern US, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported. Footage by Raymundo Macias shows snow blanketing the ground in Denver City. The NWS said that Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport had received 4.8" of snow from 12 am through 6 am on Tuesday, beating the previous January 24 record, which was 2.9" of snow, set in 1961.
