Rescue workers request silence as they try to locate Turkey earthquake victims

Local news reported that at least 2,379 people were killed after a powerful earthquake struck the southeast of Turkey in the early hours of Monday, February 6, citing Vice President Fuat Oktay.

Footage captured by journalist Piotr Zalewski shows rescue workers standing on top of a large pile of debris in Adana, a city in southern Turkey. According to Zalewski, the workers were calling for quiet in an attempt to hear someone trapped under the rubble.
