Tornado tears through central Iowa
A tornado swept through Conroy in central Iowa on Monday, January 16, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. The NWS warned residents to take cover as the tornado tracked north of Interstate 80, about 3 miles east of Conroy. A tornado warning was also in place for parts of Benton, Linn, Johnson, and Iowa Counties, including the Cedar Rapids metro area, on Monday afternoon. This footage by David Quiram shows a dark funnel cloud spinning east of Williamsburg, he said, about eight kilometers (five miles) from Conroy.
