Hollywood actor Timothy Busfield, most known for his role as journalist Danny Concannon in "The West Wing," turned himself in to authorities Tuesday amid sexual abuse allegations involving minors.

An arrest warrant was issued for Busfield in New Mexico last week, after two children accused the actor of sexually abusing them on the set of the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady” which he directed and acted in, according to NBC News

The alleged abuse supposedly took place between November 2022 and spring 2024, according to a criminal complaint filed earlier this month. Warner Bros said it conducted its own independent investigation into the allegations last year but failed to find evidence to support the allegations.

Busfield's attorney, Larry Stein, said his client was not trying to avoid arrest and turned himself in to clear his name.

"He wants to turn himself in, because he wants to clear his name and reputation," Stein said. "He didn’t do anything wrong. These accusations are false as the investigator from the independent law firm found."

A representative for Busfield's wife, "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert, said she will not be making any public statements on the allegations, but that she stands by her husband.

"During this period, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family, as they navigate this moment," the representative said. "Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time."

Busfield claimed in November that he was told the mother of the children was allegedly upset with him for not bringing the two boys back for the final season of the show, and alleged that the mother wanted revenge for the decision.
