Panda Express promises 'welcoming experience' after MAGA hat wearing vlogger says he was kicked out
Video of the incident shows two employees outside the restaurant where the vlogger continued to record telling him he had to leave. Police eventually showed up and agreed the vlogger had a right to record on a public sidewalk.
A conservative vlogger claims that employees at a Panda Express called the police on him because he was wearing a MAGA hat.
A Panda Restaurant Group spokesperson told Fox News that they are reviewing details about the incident and the situation is being handled and addressed at the restaurant level.
"We want everyone who walks into Panda Express to feel welcome and treated with respect," the spokesperson said in a statement.
Chris Sims, who describes himself on X as a "disaffected liberal turned conservative," said in a post that he and another vlogger who goes by Daniel Rebel 33 were kicked out of the location for wearing the hat and giving a cook "a thumbs up." He asked the cook whether there was an issue, and the cook said his MAGA hat was the problem.
Video of the incident that Sims posted shows two Panda Express employees outside the restaurant where Sims continued to record. The employees told the pair to leave. Police eventually show up and talk to the employees, who told the officers the pair refused to leave when asked.
Sims and Daniel Rebel 33 deny they refused to leave. The officer agreed that the sidewalk is public property and Sims had a right to record.
