Paramount Global, which owns CBS News, has reportedly offered President Donald Trump and his legal team millions of dollars to settle his $20 billion lawsuit.

Trump sued the network for allegedly deceptively editing a "60 Minutes" interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, who at the time of the interview was also the Democratic nominee in the presidential race. News networks often trim interviews for timing purposes, but those edits do not usually include nixing important context or rearranging answers.

The exact number that was offered was not immediately clear, but the Wall Street Journal reported the team was offered $15 million, which was rejected by Trump's legal team. The president allegedly wants $25 million and an apology from the network.

“It’s very early days,” an anonymous source told Deadline on Wednesday. “An opening offer has been made, but more negotiations are underway ... Right now, it’s an eight-figure discussion.”

The offer comes as Trump threatens another lawsuit against CBS over the alleged bias in its reporting. The two parties have a meeting for continued negotiations tentatively scheduled for Thursday, per the Wall Street Journal.

The lawsuit has also cast a shadow over a planned merger between Paramount and SkyDance Media, which will need approval by the Trump administration.
