Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna will lead a task force that will examine the declassification of materials "in the public interest" including those on the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the client list of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Tuesday announced his appointment of Luna to lead the panel.

"This will not be just another task force that fades into irrelevance," Luna wrote on the social media platform X on Tuesday. "I am launching a relentless pursuit of truth and transparency with @GOPoversight to lift the veil of secrecy. The American people deserve nothing less."

Luna said the first hearing will take place in March and focus on the Kennedy assassination.

"First hearing will cover JFK," Luna said. "I am looking to bring in a few people. To include an individual on the assassination record review board  as well as someone on the House Select committee on Assassinations."

Comer, R-Ky., and Luna have already started sending letters to federal agencies to get materials for the investigations, according to Fox News.

The letters have reportedly been sent to the CIA and the departments of Energy and State.
