Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Donald Trump continue to take shots at each other over how to end the ongoing war with Russia.

Zelensky said Sunday night the end to his country's now three-year war with Russia is  still "very, very far away."

He spoke two days after a tense White House meeting with President Donald Trump effectively ended the beginning of the U.S. brokered peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Zelensky said Sunday that he expects U.S. aid for Ukraine to continue.

“I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it’s more than an occasional relationship,” he said, according to The Associated Press.

Trump slammed Zelensky on Monday and said his remarks show that he doesn't want peace.

"It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia," Trump's TRUTH post reads. "What are they thinking?"
