Democrat strategist Carville says GOP supports Israel because Jews are 'whiter than Palestinians'
"It’s really about the misogyny and the racism that drives the thing, and we got to recognize that. It’s not about any policy prescription," Carville said.
Democratic strategist James Carville said during a podcast interview that he believes Republicans support Israel because Jews are more "white" than Palestinians.
Carville appeared on the "Politics War Room" podcast where he told co-host Al Hunt that Republicans tend to support Israel because the citizens are "whiter." They were discussing the disparity in support for Israel between the two major political parties, and why the protesters were focusing their anger more on Democrats than Republicans.
"And the reason I suspect that most of these people describe themselves as pro-Israel is because the Jews are whiter than the Palestinians," he said, according to Fox News.
A guest during the podcast asked a question about how the GOP could brand itself as pro-Israel if they embrace neo-Nazis and the "alt-right."
"It’s really about the misogyny and the racism that drives the thing, and we got to recognize that. It’s not about any policy prescription," Carville said.
Israel has been at war with the terrorist group Hamas for months since the Oct. 7 attack in which the Jewish state was attacked by Hamas, resulting in 1,200 people being killed.
Republican leaders for the most part have been vocal about their support for Israel while many Democrats have been highly critical of Israel and in some cases have been pro-Hamas.
