'Two small errors' found in Kristi Noem's book prior to release, spox says
The book is called, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.”
A spokesperson for South Dakota GOP Gov. Kristi Noem announced the discovery of "two small errors" in her upcoming book prior to its release.
Entitled “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” the book has already received considerable backlash over Noem's inclusion of a story in which she shot her family dog, arguing it was a danger to her children.
According to a report from The South Dakota Scout, Noem's book claimed she met with North Korean leader Kim Jung Un while serving in Congress. Analysts and former staffers the outlet that such a meeting was almost impossible.
The Hill, moreover, reported another inaccuracy related to a phone call between Noem and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, which she claimed occurred in 2021, which Noem spokesman Ian Fury told the outlet did occurred in 2020. A Haley spokesperson confirmed a call in 2020 with Noem to Politico.
The errors, Fury said, were "communicated to the ghostwriter and editor" and asserted that "future editions will be corrected."
