The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) over the weekend slammed companies that have abandoned diversity, equity and inclusion practices.

"These actions threaten economic opportunities, workplace diversity, and community investments, directly impacting Black communities nationwide," the civil rights organization said in a release.

Over the past few months, corporations such as McDonald's, Ford and Lyft have either reversed or canceled their DEI policies.

"The NAACP recognizes that the rollback of DEI initiatives is a direct attack on Black economic progress, civil rights, and the principles of equity and fairness," the statement continued. "These actions are part of a broader effort to reverse gains made in civil rights and social justice."

The group called for action and advised that black Americans call out corporations that have abandoned DEI practices and to support businesses that have kept the practices.

"Push for policies strengthening supplier diversity, workplace equity, and economic inclusion for Black professionals and entrepreneurs," the release said.
