Police officer who detained Tyreek Hill had been suspended six times: report
Officer Danny Torres started on the Miami-Dade police force in 1996.
A police officer involved in the arrest of Miami Dolphins star football player Tyreek Hill has been suspended six times, according to reports.
The six suspensions of officer Danny Torres lasted from five to 20 days, plus there have been several additional written reprimands, according to talk show host Andy Slater.
TMZ reports that Torres has been accused of misconduct and conducting improper proceedings. He has also received over two dozen commendations during his time there.
He started his career with the Miami-Dade Police Department in 1996.
Hill, the Dolphins' wide receiver, was pulled over by police on Sunday for allegedly speeding on his way to the stadium for his team's game. Torres was accused by the Miami Dolphins of being "overly aggressive" with Hill and engaging in "violent conduct."
Hill, who was given two citations — one for careless driving and one seat belt violation — has already said that Torres should be fired, according to NBC News.
Hill played for the Kansas City Chiefs for six years, including one Super Bowl championship, and this is his third season with Miami. He has gone to the Pro Bowl eight times.
