Zelensky says he wants to meet with Trump at the pope's funeral this week

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he wants to meet with President Donald Trump at Pope Francis's funeral on Saturday. 

"Yes, I would like to, I am ready," Zelensky said Tuesday when a reporter asked him about meeting Trump, according to the Bloomberg news. "We are always ready to meet with our partners from the United States."

The Pope died Monday at age 88. His funeral will be on Saturday in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City. 

Other world leaders expected to attend the funeral include French President Emmanuel Macron and Argentinian President Javier Milei.

The Trump administration has for months been in talks with Russia and Ukraine to get a ceasefire or end to the countries' roughly three-year-long war.
